- Producers need to be both growth-oriented and market-oriented – you need to grow crops because there is a customer that wants to buy the crops at a price that will make you profitable.
- Successful crop producers are focused on their costs, but also have a plan that they stick to. Innovation and growth must occur within a defined strategy.
- Look for the next innovation, don’t follow the past innovation. Don’t chase or push your crop rotation.
- Know your costs of production and have a cash flow plan.
